Re-introducing old disk

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently migrated Unraid to a new server. The original server had 1x 18TB (parity), 3x 6TB and 1x 10TB drives. I installed the parity and 3x 6TB drives into the new system, but didn't install the 10TB drive.

Is it too late to re-introduce the 10TB drive into the new system? It's been running for a few days now, and data has changed.

No problems if you do not want to keep any existing data on it as the add process would ‘Clear’ the drive

if you want to keep the data you would have to do it via Tools->New Config and then rebuild parity.

Yep I'd like to retain the data. Thank you. 🙏

Would there be any issues considering data has changed on the other drives?

No, but like mentioned you will need to do a new config, and re-sync parity
