July 15, 20241 yr Hello! Good morning! Despite being a UNRAID user for a few years now, I'm still a beginner. When I bought my motherboard in 2021 (a Supermicro H11dsi) I bought a Silicom PE210G4SPI9 10G Ethernet Adapter card (4 SFP+ 10gb ports), but I still didn't have a router that supported that speed. Until then I used a 10gb SFP+ to RJ45 module, which was negotiated at 1gb due to the limitations of my router at the time. Now I bought a PC to be my router, the QOTOM Q20332G9, I installed PfSense on it. It has 5 2.5GB RJ45 ports and 4 10GB SFP+ ports. I bought a DAC cable from Fibershow and installed it in PfSense and Unraid. There is port recognition and there is internet between the two, but the speed in the iperf tests does not exceed 1.6gb. Can you tell me what has happened?? tower-diagnostics-20240715-0916.zip
July 15, 20241 yr Community Expert iperf only measures the network bandwidth, so the any performance issues are usually the result of the a NIC issue, or its driver/settings, cables, switch, client PC.
July 15, 20241 yr Author So, is there any configuration error in UNRAID? Or in the network drivers?? By analyzing the LOG's, you can't see if there is something?
July 15, 20241 yr Community Expert There' not much you can do with config, other than jumbo frames, but that should not make much of a change, driver is bultin, cannot be changed.
October 31, 2025Oct 31 Have you ever found a solution to this? Or did it go away by any chance? I'd like to get the same card but as in your case, it's to upgrade my LANs to 10G. I don't want the hardware to be an underlying problem before starting that process - before that I'd rather shell out more money to get a working card.If you could update us, maybe with new results and things you did/did-not would be nice, thanks!
