Plex Transcoding - Transcode starts for 10 seconds then stops

Featured Replies

Hi, i'm new to unraid trying to move from combination of NAS + linux host for my docker .

I've been trying Plex, i've setup a couple of media files ( 1080p, 720p ), installed the nvidia driver and properly setup my plex app.

In the Plex server setup i can enable GPU transcoding and select my GPU.

I start playing a video and then select to stream it at 420p for example, the transcode starts and buffers 10 seconds then stops.

The GPU get the load and starts the transcode, i can see that from the gpu stats.

I figures it could be an issue with the share mounted for the transcode folder, however after checking the folder it seems that it is recognized as a Sessions folder is created there by plex although nothing is written inside it.

I recreated the Plex app giving in the Privileged write,  however it didn't work.

My setup is :

CPU : TRX 1920x

RAM : 128GB

GPU : 1080Ti

Array : 1 parity + 5 drives

Cache pool 512GB ssd

any ideas on how to troubleshoot this are welcome.

After fiddling around, found the following in Plex logs

[Req#5249/Transcode/e6ewasjz5hneqyx28ibvjq34] Transcode runner appears to have died.
