When all your Windows machines start BSODing cos of  Crowdstrike and UNRAID just sits there in a corner chugging along, happy days 🙂

Took me 5 hours to fix two Windows servers in two different cloud platforms this morning!.

Nothing wrong with my Windows systems. Then again, in 30 years I've never installed any anti-virus or security software on any machine. I wonder if Crowdstrike is going to survive this. I guess it depends on whether they're operating on baseball rules and are allowed 3 strikes. 🤣

While CrowdStrike is to blame, shame on everyone who blindly let it push updates to every machine. This is exactly why standard life-cycle testing processes should be used, including Canary test environments. It's partially your own fault.

People here still use Windows?  Weird.

Not by choice.

Many here are responsible for supporting systems that they weren't involved in the purchasing process, and possibly aren't even involved in the day to day maintenance, only called in when things go very wrong.

It can be incredibly frustrating.
