July 19, 20241 yr * I have had my system for 20 years, so I may have some hidden configuration files I've forgotten about. * My "Television" and "Movie" shares have ALWAYS used a cache drive. * I have recently turned off cache for these shares. * Radarr/Sonarr/Maybe Sabnzbd is writing to /mnt/user/cache/Movies and /mnt/user/cache/Television This ends up filling my cache drive, because the mover wont move, if the shares are not set to use cache. Share configuration Docker volume mappings I'm really confused why data is going to my cache drive... Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
July 19, 20241 yr You need to change the paths in the docker arrs containers. If you want a complete guide on how to set up arrs perfectly then there are the Thrash guides at: https://trash-guides.info/

They work exactly like I want, until I turn off cache for those shares.
July 19, 20241 yr I actually think i misunderstood what you wrote. You disabled cache for the shares but still want mover to move what the docker containers write?
July 19, 20241 yr Author I disabled the cache for those shares, but somehow Television/Movie files keep getting written to the cache drive.
July 19, 20241 yr Okay. Looking at the picture you have set the arrs to bind to /mnt/user, this should be /mnt/user/Movies and Television.
July 19, 20241 yr Author I don't know what difference it would make - For example, in Radarr, I just have my Library set to /data/Movies
July 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Why have you turned off cache for those shares? I suspect you are falling foul of the behaviour described in the Caution in this section of the online documentation accessible via the ‘Manual’ link at the bottom of the GUI or the DOCS link at the top of each forum page.

Ah ha! It could be that. If I understand correctly... Sabnzbd is downloading to the cache and effectively renaming files and they're staying on the cache drive. I turned cache off, because I'm upgrading a lot of my files, and going through tdarr. My internet speed is dramatically faster than it used to be, so it's pretty easy to fill up my current cache 3-4 times a day

If in doubt as to a good value probably better to err on the side of caution. When the free space falls below that value then Unraid will start by-passing the pool and writing new files directly to the array. That way you will get the benefit of using the cache pool when there is space, but things will not stop working when it starts filling up.
July 19, 20241 yr Author Roger. I did not have min free space set for either of these shares. Here is where I am now.
July 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution Note that I said the Minimum Free Space for the pool - not the shares. The one for the shares is aimed at stopping you filling up array drives too far. You need to click on the pool on the Main tab to get to that setting for the pool.
July 19, 20241 yr Author Ahhh OK I found it. Looks like I need to stop the Array for that, so I will do it later, but everything makes sense now. Thank you!
