July 19, 20241 yr I installed Unraid on an older machine and would love to install it in a second location for backup of the most important files and to run a Home Assistant instance for a small farm business. In fact we have fiber (YAY!) being installed this summer so both my lab and the remote system will be on a gigabit connection. I thought it would be cool if I could link two instances of pfSense together and essentially treat them as one network... My inlaws at the other site could access my media server directly and I would not have to manage a second plex instance at their place. So I tried installing pfSense on a VM on the second machine, only to discover, the machine can't pass the network cards through to the machine... But my question is, If I unbond the network cards can I set the pfSence VM, and ONLY the pfSense to have access to the eth1 card? So the rest of the network is not exposed to the raw internet? I'm afraid I don't have all the right words for this.
