v6.12.10 Requesting assistance with diagnosing intermittent crashes/out of memory issues

Featured Replies

Have had intermittent crashes of my media server. I monitor emby (HTML requests to an externally facing domain via uptime kuma on a different machine). Emby was reported down 7-22-2024 at 0009, back online at 0334, then went down again at 1539, stayed down until I was forced to do a hard shutdown on machine.

From reading syslog, appears to me to be out of memory errors leading to all processes getting killed, after which it seems server never seems to recover fully.

I recently read that Dynamix file integrity plugin was likely contributing to memory and CPU usage, which I have since disabled.

I'm continuing my search for issues causing these crashes but requesting help diagnosing any glaring issues with my configuration that can be fixed.

Enable the syslog server and post that after a crash.

Sorry, thought that was included in the diags I attached.

Possibly not the only issue, but server is running out of RAM, culprit was qbittorrent-nox, check its config or limit its RAM usage.

Thanks, I see that now. Limited RAM of qbit docker container to 8GB as a band-aid for now, although its not clear to me why these OOM issues just started.
