July 25, 20241 yr I recently created an all SSD zfs pool as my primary storage. All my shares (21 ish TB) are stored on it but after everything was up and running I realized I forgot to enable deduplication on the pool. A second copy of all the data in this pool is on a second pool on the server as well. I wanted to ask how to get the data back onto my SSD pool once I enable deduplication with minimal down time? I'm most concerned about the system and docker shares. Can anyone point to a guide that will allow me to transfer the data from my backup pool to my SSD pool then enable all services without issues?
July 25, 20241 yr Community Expert Is the backup also on zfs? P.S. zfs duplication has very high system requirements, and it's currently discouraged for most uses.
