How can I give a user I have created permission to view files in /mnt/user?

    Add them to the users group. If you are logged in edit the file /etc/group & add them to the end of the line ie.

     

    users:x:100:joe,jill,new_user,other_user

     

    you get the idea.

    Thanks, what about write permissions?

     

    EDIT: scrap that, permissions are set to root on directories I'm trying to work with :)
