Or is there a way to implement it? at this time no. the the Kingston SSDnow V+ drives have firmware level trim for OS's like unraid if you're worried about Trim. I have been running a Crucial Sandforce since last august and have no issues as a cache drive. I have pushed over 12TB through it in just a few months see here i just replaced it last week with a vertex3 for better speed. I can now push at wire speed to unRAID from multiple sources or even while the mover is running.
January 20, 201214 yr ah good info. from a write speed standpoint, for my cache drive, I can saturate my GB network with just a 640gb WD Black from a single PC ... and I am not worried about access while mover is running. not sure then what an SSD is going to get me [hmmmm]
January 20, 201214 yr Author Other benefits of an SSD are no spin up lag (which can be very important for certain programs), lower heat production, and lower power consumption.
