July 26, 20241 yr Hi All, I was wondering which of these the community recommends for a Movie server. Basically minimal writes and then mostly will be read only for the drives life. I run the drives on a spin up/spin down as needed basis. Would the Ironwolf or Exos be better in terms of long term survival rates when used like this. Cheers!
July 27, 20241 yr Whichever is cheaper. If you’re looking for stats, backblaze has probably the best collection of hard drive stats available, from an actual realistic use of the drive point of view.
