panini Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Hi, I'm in the process of evaluating Unraid and can so far see that I will quickly get addicted :-) I'm trying to set up a share (similar to Synology) that will be used for Time Machine backups. When I use Finder to connect to my Unraid server, I can see the Time Machine Folder that I created alright. But this very same folder does not show up in the list of Available Disks in Time Machine. In my search for solutions, I have found mbentley/timemachine docker. This works perfectly fine, but with that I have a problem that it will not allow any more connections. So my question is twofold: 1. Why does my Time Machine Folder not show up in Time Machine's Available Disks list - and what do I need to do to solve this? 2. Using the mbentley/docker-timemachine (link) how can I adjust settings so that it will accept more connections? Quote
wgstarks Posted July 27 Posted July 27 There is a topic discussing best SMB settings for macOS. This may help with your TM issue. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/146818-optimal-samba-settings-to-get-better-macos-to-unraid-performance/ I believe you are wanting to create TM backups for multiple machines in the mbentley docker. If that’s correct I had several issues doing that and once I got it figured out I did a short “how-to” write up of the process. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/123985-timemachine-application-support-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1134386 If you do decide to use the mbentley docker that support thread would be a better place to post questions about it.
