unRAID 5.0b14 booting \ config problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am a new unRAID user.  For the past few weeks I've got my system on-line with 5b14 and am having some very strange issues.  When the server boots, my keyboard input at the console ceases as unRAID starts (it does allow me to select unRAID or memtest via keyboard input) and it just shows the Tower$ login prompt instead of what I named my server.  It's not loading my config and will not allow me to type on a directly attached keyboard.  I tried wiping my flash drive, reinstalling unRAID and booting without my config directory.  It still will not let me use the keyboard on the console.  I also tried restoring my config directory on the clean install of unRAID 5b14 and it still will not load my config or allow me to use the keyboard.  I tried to downgrade to 5b13 and had the same exact problem.  The system did work at one point as I had configured drives, shares, cache disk, and also installed \ configured Plex Media server.  However it keeps having this boot issue, and this time it will not return to booting my proper config.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Tried a new flash drive which at first worked, and since requesting a new key I am still getting improper boots.

Try changing BIOS settings relating to the flash drive. I think "Forced FDD" is one option.
