July 28, 20241 yr Ive been using Unraid for a couple years now and have had my media share mapped as a network drive without issue pretty much the entire time. Out of no where I go to try and save something to the drive, which I have done without issues hundreds of times, but this time it says I have no access. Sometimes this happens and I just need to run New Permissions and im all good. Not this time. No matter what I do I can not get my media share mapped as a network drive with read and write access. I have double checked my user and its still set with Read/Write access in unraid, removed the mapped drive and deleted credentials in windows, followed by a restart, still nothing. As far as I know nothing happened from last night, when I had full access, to this morning when its not giving me write access. I am not sure what else to do at this point
July 28, 20241 yr Community Expert Do you have a Docker writing to the Unraid share that has a problem. I suspect that if you do the permissions for the files that it writes are not the ones that Unraid requires. The problem is that many Dockers write the permissions as 644 for files and 755 for directories Unraid requires the have 666 for files and 777 for directories! (That is why the New Permissions tool fixes them.) But it could be something else if new permissions is not fixing it. Start with posting up your diagnostics file in your new post in the thread. You can also read this post: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/131730-update-from-69-to-6115-and-got-permission-denied/#comment-1219731 You want to pay particular attention to this section: Quote If this does not help, when you post up your diagnostics, provide details about exactly what is working and what is not. (Your post was not completing clear on that point.) Listing what share(s) have problems would also be helpful. Edited July 28, 20241 yr by Frank1940
