intertan
just wondering if I take a 3d movie that is on a disk(avatar, harry potter) and convert it to mkv will it still be 3d when I play it back? using total media theater 5, with out hitting the 2d-3d button. Link to comment
joshpond
I believe it depends on what you use to convert to mkv and what TMT will play back. There are a few programs out there that will convert to Side By Side (SBS) or Top And Bottom (TAB) mkv. I had a look into them about 6-9 months ago and they weren't working that well, a lot of betas. If you convert to plain mkv then it won't work but you could try it and see, otherwise you can try and convert to SBS.mkv You just then have to check if TMT will play SBS mkv. Josh Link to comment
tritron
What if blurey just get rips using makemkv? I know that xbmc on linux can play 3d movies with a singe patch it requires 3d tv. It was strange experience to watch 3d movie that was converted to side by side on regular tv. Link to comment
