Unraid Networking Trunk mode for passing tagged traffic VLAN's

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need your help to point me if it was discussed and if there is a solution, or to help me with an advise of following issue.

I already searched but I could not find the answer unfortunately. Most probably missed a post with the soluiton.

I apologies for taking your time with this but if you have the answer please point me to it.

I need to create, like in vmware, a switch port or bridge and pass all the VLAN traffic, to act like a trunk port.

Attached there is a picture with what to be achieved.

Basically the OPNsense will manage multiple VLAN's. The VLAN ports will be handled by one physically interface part of a bridge.

In ESXI this was achieved by assigning the VM virtual interfaces to virtual switch and setting the switch to vlanID to 4095.

Issue:

Assigne the OPNsense virtual interfaces to Unraid bridge is not passing the Vlans. Once I have configured the VLAN in the OPNsense I lose the conectivity.

I have the same configuration in ESXI and it is funcitonal.

Question’s:

1) Is there Unraid design explained regarding networking, bridging, VLAN handling, trunk ports..etc?

1) How can I configure the bridge in trunk mode to pass tagged traffic?

2) How can I trace the bridge traffic and ports e.g tcpdump...etc.

If I need to provide additional information please let me know.

Thank you for your help,
