No cache drive spindown

Featured Replies

My cache drive seems to be spun up all the time. All the other drives spin down after the specified activity timeout has elapsed. Is this intentional?

Sorry - I'm running 4.3 beta 6. Obviously my brain does spin down  :).

No, it should spin down - I'll look into this.

Beta6 and mine is spun down right now... I think I spun down all the drives manually before bed last night, but then the Mover moved some stuff over night and it must have spun down on it's own at some point after it was done.

I think there is a "feature" that drives do not spin down properly until after a reboot.

I need resurrect this thread.  I just added 4 SATA drives to my IDE array.  The 3 drive that are part of the array spin down.  The WDC_WD4000KD is my cache drive and does not spin down.  I've tried to reboot several times but that doesn't work.  If I use the spindown button on the web interface it spins down.

Looks like the cache drive does spin down.  I checked it today and it was blinking...
