January 23, 201214 yr I just precleared 4 1TB Samsung drives, and a 200Gb IDE drive. one of the Samsung drives hung on writing zeros at 40% while the other 3 continued and finished without any errors, as did the 200GB drive. I decided I'd rather wait for the array to clear the drive than wait for the preclear of that drive again, so I just added all 5 drives to the array. One of the Samsung 1TB drives was added as a cache drive, and the rest to the array. When I restarted the array, it began clearing all 4 drives added to the array. This is the second time that adding a precleared drive to my array has not been recognized as precleared and was again cleared by the array. The last time it was a 3TB drive that was not recognized, but I was told that was a known bug that was supposed to have been fixed, so I didn't worry too much about it. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17749.msg159856#msg159856 Is there something "wrong" with my array that this keeps happening?
