How to upload files through SFTP as user nobody

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know this question might be pretty stupid but I usually upload new media to my unraid share through SFTP with user root (smb or afp not an option). After the new safe perms update where all the files are owned by users:nobody it gives me the ick where some files are correct as nobody:users and the new ones as root:root.

PLEX doesn't seem to care so far but I'm pretty sure I'm not doing it as I should and this will create problems down the line. So how do I correctly transfer files with user:nobody to media shares?

I know I can click the safe new perms every now and then but that doesn't seem right, I also can ssh into unraid and manually chmod the folders but surely there is a correct way to do it without all that hassle.

Thank you.
