flickdaddy
When I checked my server earlier today, I found this error notification from Fix Common Problems. After figuring out where the mcelog file was located, I realized I was very unqualified to read and understand exactly what it was saying and whether or not there was an actual serious problem (I've seen mention that mce notifications don't necessarily mean something has gone wrong). Hopefully someone on here can help me out, I've attached my mcelog and diagnostic zip. Also, not sure if it's relevant, but I replaced/upgraded my RAM several days ago, partly cause I wanted more memory but also cause I found that the RAM configuration I had was not what was recommended for the motherboard (it was cobbled together from retired server parts by the person I got it from), and I had the idea that redoing the RAM configuration would help solve my (very infrequent) problem where I would wake up in the morning and my server was turned off, and turning it back on revealed an unsafe shutdown and I had to do a parity check (I have it hooked up to a UPS so it wouldn't be because of power loss). It's happened maybe 3 times in the last year or so very sporadically. Not sure if these 2 are related, but if they are (and even if they're not), I need to figure out what's causing them to make sure any problems don't end up getting worse later on. Any insight anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time posting, so apologies if I forgot any information carlunraid-diagnostics-20240804-2252.zip mcelog Quote Link to comment
flickdaddy
Weird, cause I ran a memtest when I installed my new memory sticks, and it didn't show any errors, that was several days ago, and the MCE happened yesterday Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
RAM is ECC, so there errors are corrected, and nothing shows up on regular memtest. Quote Link to comment
