Can't login after disabling SSL

Featured Replies

I previously had SSL configured, but I decided to disable since I do not allow external access anyway. I set

"Use SSL/TLS:" to "No" in the GUI. I refreshed the page making sure to remove the s from the URL. I am presented with the login screen but it just "flickers" after entering my credentials. I rebooted the server just in case, same issue. I also made sure to clear my browser site data & setting with no joy. I had to remove OS USB and edit the ident file and re-enable SSL. It works as expected now. So my question is, how do I properly disable SSL?

That should work to disable SSL, but try typing:

use_ssl no

If the same happens I would recommend recreating the flash drive.

Just an update on this. I have a racked server and re-flashing my USB is no easy task. I confirmed when I toggle the option in the GUI I can see the "use_ssl no" changes properly. However, the issue remains. Flashing to resolve this isn't really worth my time at the moment. I will attempt at the next maintenance cycle and update this post if it resolves the issue. Thanks for the assist regardless!

Resurrecting this in hope of getting any more information on this since it also happens to me.
If I disable SSL, I can't log in to the web gui. Everything else works fine. Only way to get it back is to edit /boot/config/indent.cfg and set USE_SSL back to "yes" and restart the machine.

Going to leave it on for now but I would rather turn it off.

Edit: Switching over to a different browser works. I tried clearing all the cookies in my first browser but that didn't work. Will try to go deeper in cleaning existing state...

Apologies I should have updated this post. It did work after I disabled the option and rebooted the server. I believe something was cached and rebooting the server after I changed "use_ssl" cleared it out. Make sure to delete cached browser data for your site as well. I did mine while the server was rebooting to be sure.

Deleting all page data in chrome worked for me!
