rmp5s
I'm currently running v6.11.3...I just heard that v7 has some MASSIVE improvements that I've been waiting for for quite a while, so I'm thinking about jumping on the beta. Before I take the leap, I would love to hear what experiences you all have had with the beta v7. So... It's still in beta...I don't run in a "production" environment or anything like that, but I also don't want to take unnecessary risk with my data. Is it usable or should I wait? Have you had any issues with the beta? I loooooathe updating things in general as SOMETHING always breaks, but I really want VM snapshots and ZFS. Hahaha What have your experiences been? xanderman21
I'm in the same boat man, just resisting the Beta update urge. Hopefully it'll release somewhat soon🍻 1 Quote Link to comment

Oh, that was something else I meant to include in the original post...how long has it been around? Like...has it been in beta for a year already or did it just come around last week? July12th for the latest release which you can find here: https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/prereleases/unraid-os-version-700-beta2-available-r3096/ First beta release was on June 26th. Initial releases are always in the Bug Reports subforum in the section for Preleases. 1 Quote Link to comment

Anyone heard of any bugs?...any major issues? Quote Link to comment
bmartino1
beta 2 has 3 bugs that are known and being worked on 1. If you run Docker network with macvlan network bridge duplicate mac if you use macvlan docekr extra option. 2. ntp spam if docker setting host access enabled 3. as mentioned in the announcement forum post for the [public beta] zfs issue depending on your hd setup (waiting on open zfs to upgrade to next kernel...) https://unraid.net/blog/unraid-7-beta 4. other bugs / ports in prerelease(https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/prereleases/) Unraid beta is also running Slackware current which is "bleeding edge" so go into it with a grain of salt.. (some users have reported issues with dockers, networking, array starts...) I have not experienced these issues and the ones I have experienced the dev team is aware and working on them. While it is not recommended to run the beta for production. As I have a few friends machine. I have not had any hard error or bugs that were out right killing my system. I would recommend going to 7 beta 1 as it was the more stable beta. 1 Quote Link to comment

I did read a bit about some of those things you mention and nothing seemed TOO crazy...the Docker issues worry me, though. I have quite a few Docker containers and that getting screwed up would BEYOND suck. Maybe Beta 1 is da wey!! Thanks!! Quote Link to comment
bmartino1
I would recomend a backup of the system then. With this one can backup all current running docker data and restore if problems. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's a bit confusing, but I'll get it sorted. 1 Quote Link to comment

That's it. It's like the plain "Appdata Backup" by Kluth that you shared and Squid's "V2" had a baby, "V2.5"...🤣 Quote Link to comment

You can't see plugins that aren't available to you, and you are on such an old version that the new plain "Appdata Backup" isn't available to install until you update to at least 6.12 1 Quote Link to comment
