smbmount and mount command broken in 5.0b14?

Featured Replies

I used to mount Sambashares from another NAS in Unraid with:

smbmount <ip-address/share>  <mount-point>

This worked flawlessly in 4.7

but not anymore in 5.0b14

I get:

/usr/bin/smbmount: line 115: /sbin/mount.cifs: No such file or directory

even when i just type smbmount without parameters.

when I do a ls /sbin, mount.cfs is listed but in red

Does anyone what is wrong?

I tried to mount this share, its on a netgear nv+, as NFS, but i got a access denied by server error. SMB is still not working

I succeeded in mounting the NFS share but get "Permission denied" when trying to copy files to it in Midnight Commander.

Any hints please?

I copied the mount.cifs from 4.7 to an unRAID 5.0b14 machine I'm managing, and was able to access/copy files from the share.

I saved it in /boot and added the following line to my go script:

cp /boot/mount.cifs /sbin

This may break things as it's probably compiled under a different kernel, at least as far as I can tell.  Here be dragons.

Re: the NV+, make sure you have the IP address of your unRAID box in the read/write permissions for NFS on the share.
