Multiple drives showing Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system (6.12.11)

Featured Replies

I have been using Unraid for a while now and recently I have had 2 drives showing file system corruption.  I ran checks on the file systems in maintenance mode and from what I can tell it gets repaired but I was unable to find a method to get the drives remounted and found some information about having to remove the drives and start the array in maintenance mode and then bring the array down again in order to force a rebuild on the drives.

I have successfully done the rebuild but it has happened several times since and I have not been able to find a cause as it seems to happen randomly but on the latest time while remounting the drives to start the rebuild I have had 8 drives showing the error "Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system" including one of the drives needing the rebuild.

Checking the log (https://pastebin.com/gYtKwbEB) the is a few errors that I'm afraid I'm out of my depth with.  Is there anything I can do to recover these drives or have a lost all this data?

This is the first time I've really had any issues with unraid so let me know if there is more information required to help.

Thanks

Reboot and if it still shows the same post new diags.

Thanks the drives all came back up except the two that were undergoing the rebuild.

Do you know where I should start looking to try and trace down why the same 2 drives keep having file system errors.

I had only one configuration change from before the failures started and now, and that was installing a 10g nic which as far as I'm aware shouldnt affect the drives but I have now reverted to test.

The only other issue I can think of is the sata card has failed which I am looking into replacing now, but any other areas I should investigate would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are two disabled drives, but they are mounting, do you mean that the same two disks keep getting disabled?

Yeah, they show a file system error and get disabled, so I start the array in maintenance mode so I can run a file system check which repairs it, but then they only way I've found to get them back in the array is to force a rebuild.

Rebuild the disks and if it happens again post new diags before rebooting.
