prtsmgr
Hi, I need some advice on how to proceed. My server is still fairly new (v5b14 unlicensed). I ran a parity check last night and am seeing many errors in the syslog. Attached is a portion of the syslog and a smart report for the drive. A little history, I forgot to preclear this drive before I added it, so I just left it as is. There is no data on this drive yet. My question is, should I remove the drive from the array and preclear it now? Or should I do something different? smart.txt.zip syslog.txt.zip Quote Link to comment
marcusone
Could also be power supply, cables, or some other hardware issues; but first step I would do is take the drive out and put into a known good system and run pre-clear 2x at least. Why: 197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 124 that should go to 0 and either raise this value: 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 200 200 140 Pre-fail Always - 0 or leave it alone (hopefully the latter).
