January 29, 201214 yr meh, not great, but still dropping. Also, does anyone else get the feeling that some middle managers at the HD companies saw their shrinking supply of new drives as an opportunity to take that warehouse of unwanted, low capacity customer returns, fix 'em up, and ship them off to all the mail order companies as refurbished drives. (at outrageous prices no less). You can practically hear the cackling when you browse newegg's drive pages.
January 29, 201214 yr YES! I was just mentioning the same thing on another forum I've never seen so many 320Gig and 500G REFURBS drives being pushed on different sites and retail locations. What a freaking scam this whole HD thing has become. I vowed not to buy a new HD until the prices come back to where they were four months ago. I broke that vow however and bought a NEW 2TB Hitachi for $119 from Newegg but only because it came with a FREE 32 Gig SSD Drive that I'm using to rebuild my XBMC box. I've got several older 500G-1TB drives sitting around that I'll incorporate as needed until HD prices come back down.
