January 29, 201214 yr Sorry for the silly question but how long does it take before you get the key file after purchasing a license? I just bought a Pro key and now I can't wait to get the key so I can get rest of my disks online .
January 29, 201214 yr Maybe it depends on the time of day and day of the week, but my keys never took more than a couple of hours from purchase to email received with the key. Installation is just a case of copying the key file to your USB drive (I do that by enabling sharing the flash drive temporarily using the web UI). Then just restart your server and it's done.

January 30, 201214 yr I ordered mine on Saturday @ 2:39pm (EST). Thought "Damn.. I'll have to wait till Monday to add more than 2 drives.." That night, at 9:23pm, I received my pro key. God bless Tom.

If I were you I'd physically install it in the machine and run at least 1 preclear on it before assigning it to the array. You'll be waiting for unraid to clear it and won't be able to use the other drives until it finishes unless you preclear the drive, plus you can have a little more confidence that the drive is healthy before you commit your data to it. You'll be waiting either way, and with preclear you can get it out of the way while you are waiting on the key.
