August 19, 20241 yr Hi guys, I'm very desperate already, the issue is as follow: My usb failed on me today My 1st attempt is flashing an old backup from Feb 2024 to a new USB, it worked, I got into the UI just fine but since then I've installed a 4th HDD and maybe some other dockers so I was afraid I'd mess up something since Unraid said it would rewrite that 4th HDD if I start the array. I did however replace the new key to this USB. My 2nd attempt is when I found out Unraid Connect kept a backup on 12th Aug 2024, I flashed it to the same USB, then it booted up and will not let me access WebUI, pinging from my computer to the unraid's address 192.168.x.x works, pinging from command line on unraid tower to the router works, but it just will not show the webUI I tried booting in GUI mode, it would make my display lost signal until i press the power button, then i see the power down sequence running. I then tried re installing the backup to the USB multiple times and now it just will not see the USB as a bootable device. I then tried flashing that backup to an SD card and we are back to the same place as my 2nd attempt. No WebUI, no GUI. Attached here is my diagnostics, should I run with the Feb 2024 backup? I need the data so bad since my work depends on it. Thanks guys! tower-diagnostics-20240819-1530.zip
August 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution Recommend creating a stock install flash drive and then restoring the assignments, see below: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/changing-the-flash-device/#what-to-do-if-you-have-no-backup-and-do-not-know-your-disk-assignments

Will it have to rebuild data for 12 hours or something or it would just work and I'd be able to access the data right away if everything goes right?
August 19, 20241 yr Community Expert You can access the data immediately, though you should then a parity check

And Unraid is not letting me replace it with a new key I think due to the 12 month policy, it is now saying: Error: {"message":"Request failed with status code 403","data":{"error":"KeyFile is not valid"}}

August 19, 20241 yr Author OKAY! What I did was I installed the working backup on Feb 2024 (Unraid 6.11.1) to a new SD card and follow the instruction in the link JorgeB recommended: 2 hours ago, JorgeB said: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/changing-the-flash-device/#what-to-do-if-you-have-no-backup-and-do-not-know-your-disk-assignments Contacted support and they helped me install my key in minutes, with just 1 email! I do think that the new Unraid USB Creator is not working well for me, since fresh installs on that software does not work for me either, it just make my USB and SD cards not bootable. Somehow only the old backup works! Some dockers are not working properly but that is a story for another day, I got all my important working files up and running with no errors. Thank you so much for all the support on this thread
