Confusion about PSU Nut Statistics Watts and Power

Featured Replies

Hi I'm running Unraid 6.12.10

I have a APC Smart-UPS 750 FW Link Here

For my statistics I see my system showing usage of W "Real Power" as 25W

Then I see the VA "Apparent Power" usage at 60VA.

I have a smart plug energy monitor in the outlet which only monitors the UPS, and that shows that the total use of power is around 60 Watts

My question is, is there something wrong with my system? Is it normal for the VA to be 3-4 times the W in the UPS statistics?

My system is a

i5 6600k

MSI mobo

32 gb ram

4 18tb drives - 2 spun down

2 SSDs

1 NVMe

I've also attached a photo of the UPS page in Unraid and what my outlet is reporting

That is a strange difference, but I suspect the values are coming directly from the UPS, still, and since that's a plugin, recommend asking in the appropriate support thread:

In general, UPS power not provide RMS power reading or not really take power-factor in account, after use smart power meter plug, I generally ignore UPS power meter function.

2nd, UPS also draw power, depends on UPS model it could draw 40w+ (RMS).

I would expect your UPS draw around 15w+, you can take the reading when unplug Unraid to measure the power usage of the UPS.
