August 22, 20241 yr Hello, I'm trying to figure out why my connection seems to drop intermittently at random times. I've experienced various issues during the times at which our movie playback stops (Plex), including docker apps seeming to not be running (docker possibly crashing?) and other times the UI takes a minute or two to load. Network seems to be fine however maybe those of you who are handy with the diagnostics logs can assist in with determining what is going on with this box. I'll upload as soon as it becomes available. TIA, Z Edited August 22, 20241 yr by zcronk
September 5, 20241 yr Author tower-diagnostics-20240905-0908.zip I finally got it to complete a diagnostics log. Any help is appreciated.
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Not seeing anything relevant logged, do you know the approximate timecode it happened?
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Nothing abnormal logged, the server was running a parity check, it finished at 11:37PM, so the server itself was running, was the problem with the docker page or a specific container?
September 5, 20241 yr Author Plex would continue to stop playback with a message stating that the connection to the server is not fast enough. Happens via wired connection and wifi to AppleTV. Server has two 10gbe ports bonded, I've tried disconnecting one or the other, looking for a bad cable and or port. I have noticed that when the error populates, I have a hard time loading Unraid GUI on my phone and laptop. So it appears to be connection related. Unifi shows all of my connections as being healthy so I'm at a loss here. Thanks.
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Try scheduling the parity check for when you are not using the server, it's normal for the performance to degrade when it's running, in some cases it degrades a lot, making the server barely usable.
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert If trying to move parity checks out of prime time then the Parity Check Tuning plugin can be of help.
September 5, 20241 yr Author I would blame the parity check too however it's been happening daily for about two months now. It's not the parity check.
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Without anything logged not much more we can help, and it can be an external issue, like network issues or hardware related.
September 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Not as far as i know, and like mentioned it won't log external issues, or most hardware issues.
