January 30, 201214 yr Just done a clean install of a desktop machine that has been in this house working fine for a couple of years. OS win 7 64 pro. It can see the internet via my router and my windows boxes but not my Unraid even though it can ping it. Tried turning off the firewall. The network trouble shooter says "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection", all the other machines see it fine, tried a different newtwork card and a different cable. Think its Samba related, the Unraid is not set to local master as I have a windows homes server also but I have tried turning off the windows box, setting the unraid to master and it makes no difference. I also cannot see my Sage extender shares from this machine, only the windows ones. Any ideas...?
January 31, 201214 yr Couple of ideas to pursue. 1. Firewall. If you are using any firewall except windows, uninstall it. Disabling isn't enough on some software. 2. Homegroup junk. Windows simplified file sharing for 7 is anything but simple. Turn it off. 3. Domain/workgroup assignments. Make sure unraid and windows are in the same workgroup. Can you type \\unraidname in the search / run box and connect?

All machines are set to WORKGROUP, \\UNRAID and \\ip don't work on this machine at the run command. I can access the unraid web browser page. All other machines on the network are fine, this machine worked before the clean install and can still see the other windows boxes.
February 1, 201214 yr What error message do you get if you issue a net use z: \\unraidname\sharename at an administrator command prompt?
February 5, 201214 yr Author I get "system error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found" Tried it using the unraid boxes ip address as well and got the same message.
February 5, 201214 yr Look in the registry for this folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters do you see EnableSecuritySignature and RequireSecuritySignature in that location? If so, what are they set to? 0 or 1?
February 7, 201214 yr Author Couldn't wait and tried changing to (1) but its still the same, the windows machines show up but not the unraid or sage extenders that show up on all of the other machines. I even just reloaded another house desktop and thats fine and shows up. I think the mobo's had it...?
February 8, 201214 yr Author It was EnableSecuritySignature, Funny, booted the machine to see what the other setting was and its working this morning, must have been that change to (1) for the above that sorted it following a reboot. Thanks very much for your help.
