start up boot stops

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I'm not sure whats going on....I can't figure this out.  When I boot up the server, I get the Bios beep, and it goes to load Unraid.  It does the first option of standard unraid, and starts loading, and then freezes at the USB section....I'm not sure what is going on.  I tried doing the safe mode, and I get to a similar position.

Each picture is from one load, one is safe mode, and one is standard load.  I do see a MCE error, but I can't get anything up to actually check the logs...

Did the flash drive go bad? or?

Thanks

I was just going to change my flash drive and test it, but I don't know the order the drives were in, and can't boot to check them.

Well just put a new flash in...didn't fix it, I don't get it, motherboard is less then a month old, and cpu is as well.

Did it work before or is it a new build?

Try a different USB port.  Maybe a bios setting.  If a new flash drive made no difference then that may not be the problem.

worked before....I was having issues about a month ago, and it ended up being the CPU and intel warrantied it out, but I checked everything and they were all good.

It was working, and then all of a sudden the server froze, and then when I went to boot it back up again, this started happening.  Already tried a new port....let me try a different set of ports maybe..

What is the hw you are working with?  Maybe some listed bios settings and/or fw versions somewhere that play best with unraid.

There's not a lot of puzzle pieces here to work with.

Asus prime h770 plus

Intel Core i5-13600K cpu

I don't get it that it was working fine, and then all of a sudden this started up.

Ensure bios is updated.  Edit: Seeing 13 and 14 gen Intel CPU makes me nervous with failing equipment.

If a spare drive, see if you can fire up a different OS and maybe you can glean something from logs.

Afraid I got no idea beyond that.

yeah, they literally just replaced it...and I was like well the new patch is coming out this month..surely it'll be ok.....thinking i'm going to return both cpu and motherboard as I have gotten both recently, and get a 12th gen intel, and a different motherboard and go from there.
