February 1, 201214 yr i am hovering over the pkg install button for DNS, i have a dyndns account which i used with my QNAP, i also read this that went along with it... Be aware that opening up your server to the web is opening it up to every hacker and script-kiddie in the world and they'll soon find your files. unRAID is not secure as delivered. Its management web-page will be the first thing targeted by hackers. unMENU was never designed to be accessed from the wide-area-network. At the least, you MUST use a router that will block all but the few ports you specifically open up to the world. Consider yourself warned. Now...i had a QNAP and i had access to SABnzb interface and SB interface on my phone when i was out and about (just had those ports forwarded), i also had access to the administration pages of the QNAP, wouldshould the above also apply to the QNAP, is it a general warning or is the QNAP software designed to be open to the WAN, is UNraid going to more of and an easier device to target ?, all i really want to do is have access to SAB and SB and be able to access and download my files on other computers over WAN, does anyone do this and have they encountered problems, what precautions could i take to avoid such issues?
