February 1, 201214 yr I have an external drive with about 1TB of iso files all of which are around 2-4gb each, the drive has an Esata port and USB port on it, i have an Esata port on my N40L proliant server but the cache drive is hooked up to it at this time, i have the share already created on unraid i wish to move the files to, am i best to plug it into a usb port and just dump it over or unplug the cache drive from esata for the short term and pull the files accross, transferring via usb will mean it will use the cache drive and move later as 'cache' is enabled on said share, correct ? but if i remove cache drive and transfer via esata i will avoid use of cache drive but given i have a parity disk in place i would notice slower transfer speed ?
