Not receiving E-mail notifications for followed threads

Featured Replies

Since about August 20th, I have not been receiving E-mails for topics that I am following.  I have checked my trash to see if that is the problem.  My Email account is with Yahoo.com.  I have checked my account settings and it appears that I have it set up properly.

It is just something with my E-mail account or is something else going on.

I do not follow many threads, but I do receive notification from subforums and new users posts (moderators thing I guess).

You probably already checked your spam folder on yahoo ?   It still works fine with hotmail.com (barely more hyped provider :D )

Yes, I have checked it it about ten times in the past week.

Not sure what is going on.  I posted up thinking that it might be that Yahoo is blocking all E-mail from the Unraid mail server.  (It would not be the first time that this has happened...)

I did turn on 'Notification list' everywhere in Notification Settings so I now will get a notification on the Forum pages.  That will solve the problem for me but it does require action on my part (loggin in) rather waiting until a an E-mail notification was received...

There was another user with issue where changing the email address fixed the problem, if you have a different address you could use, ideally from a different provider, it may be worth trying.

I am finding that this is not really a very usable solution for several reasons.  First, the viewable portion portion of the list is short. Second, as soon as the first new notification is clicked, the highlighting of all the other new notifications disappear!  Third, there is no way to edit the notification list-- highlight a notification for future attention, delete a notification that is no longer needed or requires no further action on my part.  This makes it very difficult to help more than about three people at the same time.

Just where do you do this?  I have searched the User settings for the Forum and can't find any place to change the E-mail address.   Yes, I could abandon my present login account and generate a new one but then I would lose all my 'street creds'  as well as the linkage to all my earlier postings.

Could someone post up the Mailing Address that the Forum uses to send out email?  I could then ask Yahoo about the problem...

I got my notifications working by contacting LT Support ([email protected]) and getting them to change my email address used for notifications. After that’s done be sure to check your forum profile and displayed user name. Mine had to be reset after the change of email address.

LimeTech appears to resolved this issue. Contact Support and they can fix it for you. I suspect that everyone who has the issue will have to be proactive in requesting a fix.
