Constantly Losing Connection to Server

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

Earlier today I started having this issue where in a second I'm able to connect to Unraid and in the next the connection drops. To be clear, it's not shutting down or restarting, I'm just losing the connection. I also can't access the server using the local address entirely (myservername.local), though I can sometimes access it using the IP Address.

At first I though this was a docker related issue because, after rebooting the system, docker was disabled. When I went to enable it, I lost connection again. I've since disabled Docker and the problem persists, so it may not be related.

If I connect my monitor to the server, I can see the console normally.

I didn't change anything with my configuration either. I did, however, have a similar issue with my main PC yesterday, which led me to not have working ethernet. After restarting my router that issue went away. Given that both were networking issues, I'm starting to think my router may be at fault here.

I admit I'm a little bit out of my depth here, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Enable the syslog server and post that after it happens again.

Here it is. Not sure if there's anything helpful on there.syslog-192.168.1.67.log

Check network for IP conflicts.

Quick question - do you have the Nvidia driver/plugin installed? I started to get similar behavior 16/8 suddenly, after the server has been stable over year. For me it seems related to the Nvidia driver (I use for Plex transcoding), as the server has worked since I uninstalled the driver. Now searching for a solution, hoping it is not a hardware issue (gtx 1650).

Nothing relevant logged, could be an external problem.

So, quick update. After resetting my router the problem seems to have stabilized. Must have been some change on the ISP side that caused this.

I now have issues accessing Plex remotely, but at least I can connect to my server now. I'm closing this thread. Thanks for the help everyone!
