Guys, i purchased an ICY Dock MBP973 sometime ago. the first unit i RMA'd as the bottom port did not work, the middle port was so-so, and the top port was a-ok.

 

 

The replacement is even worse! i can't get any of the ports to show up during the RAID POST.

 

my mobo is a gigabyte w/ ICH9R. the Sata controller is in AHCI mode and works fine when drives are directly connected.

 

i'm trying three 500gB WD hard drives. 2x WD5000AADS, and 1x WD5000AAKS.

 

so far i've tried switching cables, ports, tried only 1 HD (the AAKS), forcing the drives to SATA1 (1.5gbps).

 

looking for some solutions to attempt here before I return it for good. might also try the kingwin 3001 after if possible.
