I recently converted one of the disks in the array to ZFS, and when moving files to this ZFS disk, I noticed that some folders become "datasets" automatically, while others do not: Why is that? Is that a problem? Should I convert it to Dataset or leave as it is? Thanks in advance.
August 28, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution Any folder created by the mover will be datasets, or if you create the share first using the GUI, if you move them manually they won't.

Hummm... those that don't become dataset were created by the "unbalanced" tool. Should I convert it to Dataset? Is the conversion safe?
