M.2 Undetected

Featured Replies

Just booted to the web GUI on an Aoostar R1 from a USB.

I have a WDS500G1R0B in the M.2 slot, but it's undetected. The 2 3.5" HDDs are detected and up and running as an array without issue.

Could someone help with getting it set up? Ideally I'd like to use it as the boot drive. (I'm very, VERY new to linux.)

Unraid must boot from the flash drive.

The flash drive contains archives of the OS. These are unpacked fresh into RAM at each boot and it runs completely in RAM. Think of it as firmware. Flash also stores settings from the webUI so they can be reapplied at boot.

M.2 should be assigned to a pool such as cache.

Can you see the M.2 in BIOS?

I cannot see the M.2 in the bios under advanced>storage configuration.

However, I can see it under boot order.
