slow transfers FROM unraid server

Featured Replies

I'm running unraid 4.7 pro on my unraid server.. Transfers TO my unraid server are as expected (30-40MB/sec), but transfer FROM are very slow (6MB/sec). Since transfer to the unraid server are fine, I'm assuming the cables are fine, what else can I check?

Just to add a little more info, transfer was going from my unraid server to my Win7 desktop. Both connected to the same netgear gigE switch. The files were three ~4500MB files.

Futher specs in my sig.

not to sound like the help desk guy from overseas....

But the last time i had this, i had not rebooted my desktop or my server in months. after rebooting my desktop, server and router... everything was back up to "fast" transfer speeds again...

I would not make that assumption.  There are 4 pairs of wires in a LAN cable, 2 pair are used bi-directionally at higher speeds, the other two pair each used in one direction at lower speeds. (100<B/s  or lower)

It could easily be a cable, or a write speed bottleneck in the win7 PC.
