USB flash drive 100% full

Featured Replies

32gb usb flash drive has become 100% full after clicking the active button for "flash backup." The menu is stuck on "Not activated: activating" and there is no button to abort. I think its filled up with files in /boot/.git/objects. Two CPU threads are stuck on 100% usage. It's been like this for 5 days.

Is there a command line way of aborting this process. Or any other recommendation for fixing this.

System specs

- Unraid 6.12.10.

- i5-12400 CPU

- Z790 motherboard

- 32GB DDR5 ram

- 2 x 1TB NVME cache btrfs

- 3 x 10TB HDD array

I made some progress. I used command rm -rf /boot/.git/objects/*
It now shows the below.
Flash usage is now 77%, which still seemed very high for a 32gb drive. It seems like Immich was taking up 22 gigabytes of space on my flash drive via docker compose in /boot/config/plugins/compose.manager/projects/Immich. Deleted this.

There shouldn't be anything that's writing 30GB+ to your boot flash drive.  I have a 8GB dive with 1.25GB on it.  There are 30+ Docker containers installed and 3 VMs.  Same drive for 3 years.

Best guess is you have something mapper to the flash drive which shouldn't be.  I would browse the flash, and see what is there which isn't in a typical freshly built Unraid flash.

Thanks. It turns out it was immich. I installed immich using the docker compose plugin, which by default puts the git folder on the boot drive. For some reason the immich git folder was 22gb.
