Hi All

I recently acquired a Boxee and found that it could not access some of my media. To fix it I found a directory it could access and then compared them.

(please note whenever I talk about permissions I am referring to only the last three characters of the permission "string")

At first I found that the folder that had an 'x' on the end so I ran the following command on one of the directories that the Boxee could not access:

chmod +x * -R

This didn't fix the problem so I ran this after comparing the folders again:

chmod +r * -R

The second command fixed the directory and I can now view media off my Boxee. My question for the Unraid community is what did I do by adding the 'x' (Google tells me the folder are now exectuable?) but will this affect me?
