February 6, 201214 yr Hi Guys, Ok so here it is, Today I checked my array status and found that the fourth (WDC_WD5000AAVS-00ZTB0_WD-WCASU6061192 500GB) disk was being detected as a disabeld disk, So I stopped the array and rebooted the servers. When the server came online I didn't initiallt notice but the system detected the the same disks as a 750GB disk, but still disabled and after strting the array the array was still degradded, I then shutdown and did a cold start i.e. full power off to allow the disk to re-initilize. When the array came back online I found the the disk was being detected as a 500GB again, but now it won't allow me to assign it as it it say the disk is to small. So my question is how can I solve this porblem ? Is there a way to remove a disk from the array premanantly ?, What if I moved all the data from disk4 to disk3 then break the parity and rebuild ?
