Featured Replies

Hi guys i added a new hdd in my array normally i have an option to say i want to format and thats it.

But now my unraid is doing a clear option. First time i see that. I cant just format the hdd.

I have to wait 1 day because it's a 20TB  WDC_WD200EDGZ-11BLDS0_XXXXXXXXX- 20 TB (sdg)

Is there a way to skip ?

thx

If you are ok with invalidating parity and rebuilding it, you can set a new config with all the drives and rebuild parity.

You will be unprotected from drive failure for the duration of the parity build.

Probably quicker just to let the clear finish.

That is normal if you have not run a pre-clear prior to adding it   A disk has to have all sectors set to all zeroes to avoid it invalidating parity.
