Drives not showing up

Featured Replies

I am strugling to get my drives showing up in unraid.

The drives show up in bios.

I am using a hba 9400-16i card (firmware version 11)

8x8 sas cards (huh728080al5204)

I use a Jonsbo N3 case wich hasa sata/sas backplane. Where the backplane needs to be connected with sata cables.

I am also using a molex to sata power adapter to the backplane when I read some sas drives is strugling with 3.3v that the normal sata power provides.

I have tried taken out all but one drive, did not work.

I have tried putting in a ssd in one of the slots. That showed up in unraid.

Sep 6 10:17:24 Tower kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Unsupported sector size 520.

You need to reformat the drives to 512B sector size, like this:

I am now waiting for the drives to format.

I hope this is it.

I am so grateful for the help☺️

I started to format and whent to sleep. When I got up, the terminals where gone. So I asume there done.

So I did a restart and tried to add the drives to array/parity. But they would not do it and disapeard.

Then I noticed I needed to upgrade my unraid lisence, because of the drive limit of 6. I did that and restart.

I still cant do anything

I added a new diagnostics

I have trying to search more on people who has the same problem.

They have discs that have type 2 protection and need to format, but as I can see my drives do not have that. So what else can it be?
