February 7, 201214 yr G'evening all fellow unraiders... Time to upgrade my put-together-from-spares unraid server. I'm going for a new build, but it has to be low on power consumption. Any good advice on a build? It has to power down easily or by script after a period of time. WOL enabled and room for max 15 discs. Tia/Lappen

February 10, 201214 yr + 1 although you may want to spend a little more on the mb and get the one with IPMI According to the Supermicro specs it does, http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ATOM/ICH9/X7SPE-HF-D525.cfm This is the 'Flex' atx version which is a little bigger than a mini-itx version, you can get the mini from here, and its a little cheaper, I just bought 2! https://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-X7SPAH5
February 10, 201214 yr Author Thanx for your advice. I was also considering the X8SIL-F-O with a I3 2100T? /Lappen
February 10, 201214 yr Thanx for your advice. I was also considering the X8SIL-F-O with a I3 2100T? /Lappen Those two are incompatible due to differing CPU chipsets, but the X8SIL-F-O with an i3 530/540/550 is a great system!
March 5, 201214 yr Author Thank you all for your advice. I've ordered the following Prominent9 3xSS-500 X8SIL-F-O i3 550 Kingston 4gb ramkit 2xSASLP-MV8 5xWD30EZRX Corsair TX650 Guess it could be more low powered if I went for an Atom solution, but the above is known to perform well. Im looking forward to building it, and hope it will serve me well ;-) /Lappen
