Want to add a new drive to the pool, need help with order of operations

Featured Replies

I have an UNRAID server (version 6.12) with the following configuration:

  • 3 x 4TB disks in an array (one parity drive, two data drives).
  • 1 x 16TB disk as an unassigned device (not protected with parity).

I just purchased an 18TB disk and I want to reconfigure my setup as follows: all 5 disks in a single array with the new 18TB disk being the parity disk, the old 4TB parity disk becoming a data disk, and the previously unassigned 16TB disk becoming part of the array without losing the data it already has.

How do I go about things? I'm not sure what would be the ideal plan of action here. Any advice is appreciated.

Tools - New Config.

You can then reassign the devices as you want and will then need to resync parity

What filesystem is the Unassigned?

That won't work in the array without reformatting.
