Buying a friend's flash drive [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

As you may be able to tell from my post count, I'm rather new to unRAID. I have a server set up and working well using the free version of unRaid, but a friend of mine just dissembled his server and wants to sell me his upgraded pro flash drive. Is it possible to copy over the configuration files from my flash drive to his so that I can add more drives to my setup? If not, is there any other way to use his flashdrive but retain all my files.

Thanks!

Yes.  you need the pro.key file, so keep that.  Other than that, you can copy over your entire config directory.

So, just to be clear, if I copy over every file in the config folder and leave the plus.key file that will do the trick? The files outside of the config folder don't matter?

Sorry, like I said, I'm new at this and want to be 100% sure I won't mess anything up. I really appreciate the quick response. Thank you!

So I copied the config over, and everything boots fine, but the array comes up stopped with the message 'Too many wrong and/or missing disks!'. I only have three drives at this point, they are all listed under the devices tab, and i've assigned them to the same disk slots as they were in my original configuration, but I get the same message. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thanks again.
