Getting ALOT of ._ files on the server

Featured Replies

I have the server running and working fine it's runing xfs format and is primarily used to store my photography work.

I have a windows workstation and a mac laptop so I am connecting and backing up from both.

When I browse the files on the server I see a lot of files starting with ._
Pretty sure this has something to do with mac extended attributes or something like that.

This is annoying and troublesome with backup since there are so many small files that takes forever.

Is there anyway of solving this so these files are not created?

I believe those are create by MacOS, but I think there's a way to disabled that.

Would be greatly appreciated if there is a way to disable them

i think you have to add options in smb settings

add this to samba extra configuration:

veto files = /._*/._DS_Store/

array must be stopped
