akamemmnon Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Ok sorry for the stupid question, but I had an old unraid server, it worked great. I wanted to upgrade the motherboard and cpu and did that. but when I used the old flash drive it wouldn't boot up. so to test things out I created a new flash drive (with a trial version) and finally got things working. I saw that the old SanDisk drives aren't recommended so I decided to move my Key over to the new flash drive, but I didn't copy the config folder or anything. I plugged all the old drives (that have my data) in the same order as the old configuration. now if I turn on the array will it just detect my old shares by reading the data on the drives and rebuild parity or do I need to move more stuff over from the old flash drive to the new one? If you assign the drives as they were it will import them, bt you can also copy super.dat from the old flash to have the assignments Quote

The reason I did not was because the old flash wouldn’t load on the new machine but this new one would so I don’t know where the problem is. I don’t care about any of the plugins or dockers I had but just the data on the shares. Thanks so much. Quote
